Once you or your child has been identified as a candidate for orthodontic treatment by Dr. Jaffe, you will meet with the treatment coordinator to discuss insurance benefits and financial options. Payment plans are available to help spread the cost over the duration of treatment. Please ask us about financing options, credit card payments and bank drafts. We presently offer no- interest in house financing, as well as third party financing through Springstone® and CareCredit®. We also offer a discount for multiple family members and charges paid in full at the start of treatment. Visa, Master Card, and American Express payments are accepted. We thoroughly explain your options, so that we can accommodate your needs.
Insurance
Orthodontic insurance is typically very different from other types of medical coverage. Most insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic “benefit” that is distinct from regular dental insurance. This benefit will usually cover only a portion of the treatment fee up to a dollar amount dictated by your individual plan. We presently are participating providers with Delta Dental and Blue Cross, but can submit a claim on your behalf with most insurance providers.
To help us with your insurance filing, please complete the insurance questions on our medical history form. Please also remember to bring your dental insurance card to the first appointment so the information can be verified. As a service to our patients, our treatment coordinator will generally check your orthodontic benefit at the initial appointment. Even if treatment is not recommended at this appointment, this will help you plan for the future if treatment is recommended at a later time.
Orthodontic insurance is a benefit for you or your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.
