Set A Timer

Remember, for your Invisalign treatment to work, you must wear your aligners at least 22 hours per day. Because you’ll be removing the aligners each time you eat a meal, it can be hard to remember to put them back in while you’re getting used to treatment. To ensure you don’t forget, set a timer on your phone or another device for 30 minutes after a meal.

Removal & Cleaning

Not only do your aligners need to be put back in after eating, they also must be put onto clean teeth. It’s very important to brush your teeth after you eat and before you replace your aligners. Otherwise, you may easily develop cavities, and your aligners will be prone to staining.

Use A Removal Tool

You’ll be removing and replacing your aligners very often, so a removal tool can really make a difference. Refresh Your Aligners

Dr. Jaffe and his professional staff recommend that you wash your aligners after removing them for meals. Simply brush all surfaces of the aligners with toothpaste and rinse with cold water. Occasionally, it is also important to clean the aligners more thoroughly by soaking them in a glass of water along with a retainer or denture cleaning tablet. You want your aligners to perform optimally, and regular refreshings and cleanings help to accomplish this.
